Where Suno and Udio run as cloud services with subscription tiers and usage quotas, ACE-Step UI runs entirely on your machine. You keep your prompts, your lyrics, and your generated audio files locally. Think of it as the difference between renting a cloud-based music app and owning a studio that lives on your own hardware.

The project is MIT-licensed and built to feel like a real music production tool rather than a command-line experiment. You get a prompt box, a lyrics editor with Verse and Chorus tagging, style controls, BPM, key, and duration settings. There is a built-in library, a player with waveform visualization, playlist management, an audio editor, stem separation, and a full song management workflow.
